Sunday school

Sunday School has been run for many years by John & Hannah Waters, who retired from the post in January 2010.

We are keen to restart activities - please contact Rosy Davy or the Rector if you are interested in helping.

Our programme of activities and discussion has followed the lectionary themes or readings. This has involved exploring values, beliefs and trust; relating bible stories to every day life today; and examining the challenges faced by young people in our own community and elsewhere in the world. We have used role play, acting out bible stories, drawings and modelling as a way to encourage self-expression.

A very important part of the Sunday School routine is deciding who lights the candles and takes round the collection tin. This is a ritual that has been sustained for the past 20+ years, using the same collection tin, which in itself is a talking point.
